    Hat Yai man arrested for alleged shots at jet ski rescuers

    SONGKHLA – A 30-year-old man accused of firing gunshots at volunteers on jet skis helping flood victims in Hat Yai district has been arrested and charged with illegal use of a firearm.

    Provincial Police Region 9 said on Monday that Mr Ruengchai, whose last name was withheld, surrendered to police on Sunday and handed over a Glock pistol he allegedly used to shoot at volunteers riding on jet skis on Tuesday at Ban Koh Mee School in Hat Yai district.

    Mr Ruengchai is the first suspect arrested after earlier reports of shots being fired at rescuers on jet skis assisting with the evacuation of  victims.
