Blue Line train services were delayed by up to one hour on Wednesday evening due to an undisclosed problem between the Sutthisan and Ladphrao stations in Bangkok.

Bangkok Expressway and Metro announced the service disruption at 5.25pm, saying only that a problem was detected between the two stations on the route to Tha Phra.

But information on the panels at subway stations said the problem took place between the Kamphaengphet Phet and Thailand Cultural Centre stations.

Photos posted on social media platforms showed crowds of commuters in some stations while riders in other stations decided to give up wating and take other modes of transport.

An announcer at the Queen Sirikit Convention Center said around 6.30pm that the delay was expected to last another 15 minutes.
