Motorists are being strongly advised not to use a main road between Buri Ram and Sa Kaeo because of the danger posed by Cambodian artillery shelling areas along the border.
The provincial highway office in Buri Ram on Tuesday warned that travelling on highway 348 could be risky between Non Dindaeng district in Buri Ram and Ta Praya district of Sa Kaeo.
Highway 348 is a four-lane main road connecting the northeastern and eastern regions. It links Nang Rong district in Buri Ram and Aranyaprathet district in Sa Kaeo, part of it running near the border with Cambodia.
The highway office suggested motorists use highway 304 instead. It connects the two regions, running between Pak Thong Chai district in Nakhon Ratchasima and Kabin Buri district in Prachin Buri.
